How To Create A ChipIn (Sample Only Don't Donate)
I get a lot of requests for help in creating ChipIn pages. To save myself some time, I created this page with tips and basic instructions to get help for those who really need it. I realize that by doing this guide, it may also be used by scammers ready to take advantage of the gullible. Although there are several worthy causes with legitimate please, I advise all potential donors to be cautious and do your own research before contributing.
HOW TO CREATE A CHIPIN: Go to:http://www.chipin.com
CREATE A CHIPIN
-I’m Collecting For (Make it short. Ex. Lucy’s Hip Surgery-this will be the name of your ChipIn and will be used as part of your public link to your page)
-I Want to Raise (Enter target amount)
-I Need it By (Enter due date)
-Send My Funds To (Enter PayPal email or Create a PayPal account) Note: PayPal will deduct processing fee % for each donation automatically.
Click "Start Your Event"
Note: The process above only creates a Widget. Proceed below to create a page describing your ChipIn.
Click "UPDATE MY CHIPIN PAGE" to Create a Page
Tip: Use Firefox whencreating this page. IExplorer does not embed pics, videos and links.

Click Add Entry
Click “Add Entry” or “Customize Page” to Create or Update your ChipIn page. This page is where you describe your fundraiser and add all pertinent info. Add photos, news, videos, links to other sites. There’sbeen quite a few scams made through ChipIn so the more info and validity you have, the more confident people are to donate and the more successful your fundraiser will be. It’s also best to include another option for others to donate. Ex. Add contact info of Vet Clinic (name, phone,address, etc.) so others can donate to the clinic directly. Make sure to communicate with the Vet and have a reference when people call, ex. “donation for Lucy’s Hip Surgery.”
To add photos:
-Upload your pic from an image hosting site like Photobucket.
-Click the photo icon and paste the link location of your pic.
-Your pic should come up (if Firefox is used. Again, IE won't embed)
To add video:
-Click on film icon
-Paste YouTube url
Widget:
The widget is run by Flash. On several occasions, it may be stuck and display the same amount. Be patient. It will correct itself over time. PayPal sends a receipt to each donor automatically. You can also check your Dashboard and it will display the correct amount of funds collected.
You may edit, update, extend or end your ChipIn at any time. Note: If you are extending the due date, please do so before the deadline date you currently have. Once the ChipIn ends, it can't be re-opened.
